MALËSORI KËNDON 

The book features some of the most popular songs that embody the traditions, the history, the culture, and the way of life of the Albanian people in the regions of Montenegro commonly known as “MALESIJA (Hot, Grude, Trijesh, Koje),”including the regions of but not limited to Ulcinj, Tuzi, Podgorica, Rozaje, Plav, and others. In large part, most of the written record in Malesori Kendon is a compilation of the oral tradition, history, culture, and way of life of the Albanians in Montenegro that was passed-on from generation to generation through the common spoken word, songs, stories, and typical folklore.

Some of the most influential content featured in “MALESORI KENDON” is “BESELIDHJA E 28 QERSHORIT E MALESISE” on pages 375-376. June 28, 1970 is a day of historical significance for the Albanian People of MALESIJA in Montenegro; Because on June 28, 1970 in the small town of TUZI the Albanian People of MALESIJA established a Faith-Covenant(Beslidhja) among/between themselves “Not to take vengeance on any family member or relative, except on the one known to have committed the crime or the one legally to have been found guilty by a court of law. The aforementioned covenant was initiated by the social and political representatives of the Albanian People corresponding to the regions of MALESIJA(Hoti, Gruda, Trijeshi, …). June 28, 1970 was the day that the social and political leadership of the Albanian People of MALESIJA declared to the world that they are not a backwards and left-behind people, but are capable of progress, development, and adapting to modern times. The founding members of the Faith-Covenant “BESLIDHJA E MALESISE” at the time received praises and congratulations from Kosova, Ulqin, Gusi, and others.

MALESORI KENDON contains many interesting songs of Legendary Albanian historical figures of prominence from the region of Malesija and neighboring countries, displaying Courage, leadership, Faith, Character,Morality, and Ethical traits. Malesori Kendon contains a plethora of songs involving many topics such as: Dance songs,
Satirical songs, Work songs, Poetic Songs, Love songs, Historical songs, Songs of Vengeance, and other songs in general involving many periods of history of the Albanian people from the region of MALESIJA in Montenegro.

The many songs in MALESORI KENDON describe the hardships, suffering, and endless wars the Albanian People of MALESIJA have endured throughout the ages and how they managed to persevere to this day.The book reflects some of the customary distinguishing and enduring superior character qualities of the Albanian People of MALESIJA
from the regions of Montenegro that sets them apart from other ethnicities are the likes of Faith, Firm Moral Character, Hospitality, respectability, Courage, and Daring social and political leadership.

The aforementioned character qualities of the Albanian People of MALESIJA have played a decisive role in the wars, battles, and conflicts of the ages against the enemies of many peoples of the Balkan region of Southeastern Europe. MALESORI KENDON has many illustrations depicting distinguishing individual Albanians with a military
background wearing the uniforms of the time such as on pages 241, 255, 290, 298, 301, 394, 406, 414, 416. Included in the book are other illustrations of the historic ethnic attire for the traditional Albanian People in MALESIJA for men located on pages 241, 293,300, 325, 363, and for women are located on pages 357 depicting the “XHUBLETA” , 267, and many others.
